We are excited to unveil the latest edition of *Local Friends*. At the helm is Alexander Lay-Far, founder of the In-Beat-Ween Music label, host of the eponymous *Silver Rain* radio show, and an acclaimed legend and pioneer in the local scene — truly, no exaggeration.

An experienced selector, Lay-Far effortlessly melds house, disco, breaks, and funk, creating a sonic narrative that unfolds seamlessly. He recently made waves with his full-length album "True, Necessary, Kind," released on Moscow's STVOL Records. His discography also graces labels such as Razor-N-Tape, Local Talk, MYOR, Tru Thoughts, and Lumberjacks in Hell.

In essence, this mix is 90 minutes of pure euphoria — a captivating blend that elicits smiles and sets a laid-back atmosphere. It's a sonic journey worth savoring.

Опытный селектор, который сочетает в своих сетах хаус, диско, брейки и фанк разных калибров, превращая всё это в музыкальную историю, которую невозможно поставить на паузу. Совсем недавно у Саши вышел полноформатный альбом "True, Necessary, Kind" на московском STVOL Records. Vova, a young musician hailing from Kasimov and now based in Moscow, is a member of the MOSOBLEKTRO label and Organ Boys Club. With a diverse portfolio of musical styles, ranging from slow house to high-energy breakbeat and juke compositions, Vova has numerous releases on notable labels such as Internetghetto, Hyperboloid, Angels Gun Club, welofi, svodka, and URBAN.

Vova’s introduction:
"In this mix I tried to bring together different compositions, both in terms of rhythm and mood, blending ghettotech, hardtech, baile funk, trance. The energy builds up gradually throughout the set.»

Kostya Minin is a St. Petersburg street hero, originally from Arkhangelsk. He is frequently seen playing in Kruzhok, Underdog, and Griboyedov. If you're new to Kostya's work, we recommend starting with this mix if you like something "heavier."

Dima Safronov founded the Moscow-based independent online radio station 5/8 in 2017. During this time, he has released over 200 mixes from various members of the local and international electronic scene. Dima is also half of the Bryansk-based party collective "Athletics." They cultivate a love of music, freedom, and a lack of prejudice.

Dima's central thesis behind this mix: "It's all about the same instability and chaos all around.

DJ and producer Maryag recorded the new mix for our Local Friends mix series. He has appeared on numerous online radio stations worldwide, including France's Le Protocole Radio, Mexico's House Salad Music, Germany's Deep Space Berlin, Canada's So What! Radioshow, and Russia's MegapolisFM, OTO, and 5/8 Radio. Maxim recently had a release on the Italian label Bellissima, and a new cassette release on Russian FROUFROUFROU will come out in the middle of November. 
 
Maxim had prepared an eclectic mix of his favorite house and breaks, as well as some of his tracks from the upcoming release. Acidic leads, atmospherically smeared synths, and dense beats will keep you warm in the final month of autumn.
